Superhero Strength Program
Sep 12, 2024New study confirms Dads with bigger arms have more superhero like abilities.
That might not be an actual study, but this email will show you an actual program that can help you build your superhero body.
After I received a lot of positive responses to last week's email, I wanted to write a follow-up email with an actual workout program you can follow to get that movie star look.
You might be thinking it's a vain pursuit to chase bigger arms or a flatter stomach.
And you might be right...
But you might be wrong too.
Let me explain.
Why is our society drawn to people that are perceived to have higher status?
There are (real) studies that show this time and time again.
Why this happens is a deep topic, influenced heavily by our belief systems, which I won't pretend to try and answer today.
You don't have to scroll far through social media to see what kind of accounts, advertisements, and influencers are most 'attractive'
Success and money is a big driver for a lot of this.
Nice cars, big houses, and expensive wardrobes draw a lot of attention.
But so does having a fit body.
Wealth and Health.
Both are attractive.
What's interesting, when comparing the two, is that one of those is easier to fake than the other.
You can pretend to have great wealth.
People on social media literally rent super nice cars to appear wealthy.
The Bible warns against this:
Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant than pretend to be somebody and have no food. - Proverbs 12:9
Health on the other hand, is harder to fake.
Unfortunately, due to social media, HRT, weight loss medications, etc - it's getting easier to 'fake' your health.
Yes, there are unhealthy images of what's considered fit these days. A lot of people you see on social media, or in a movie, is probably on a strict regimen that is hard for most people to follow.
But these people are getting paid to look a certain way - you're probably not.
They're also probably getting some extra help...š
And you're probably not.
But generally speaking - it's hard to fake being healthy and fit.
Anyone that's gotten fit, or tried to get fit, understands how much time, effort, and sacrifice it takes to look a certain way.
But get this.
It's not about achieving a certain status, but it is about having influence.
Here's what I mean.
Like it or not, your body is a reflection of your choices.
Yes, there are some exceptions outside of your control, and you don't have to look like a fitness model, but there is a certain health standard you should hold yourself to.
And your spouse, your kids, your family, your friends, and those that you have the ability to influence - they care more about what you do than what you say.
Taking care of your body is an easy way to influence those around you in a positive way.
It shows them that you honor yourself and that you're willing to make sacrifices.
And it gets better.
It's certainly an example that you're setting.
But it's also more than that.
It's about self-confidence.
Research shows that people that are more physically active and people with lower body fat tend to be more confident (here, here, and here)
How would your life be different if you had more self-confidence?
This doesn't come from looks alone. But there is transformation that happens when you start to discipline your body and follow-through on your word to yourself.
So if you want some bigger and more defined arms, or to see some of those hidden ab muscles, in the name of self-confidence...
